I agree with Kelda, get your ass over here NOW!!!!!!!

Pipedream:
Yeah! Come on over, David!!! We sure would welcome you! :D ;D ;)

Here are some more images from this year's Oktoberfest. It ends on Sunday after 16 days of crazyness. It really is the world's biggest Volksfest. Last year it attracted a record 6.5 million guests, who consumed 6.9 million liters (1.8 million gallons) of beer, 58,000 liters (15,320 gallons) of wine, close to 500,000 roast chickens and 102 oxen (those figures are taken from Spiegel-Online). And even many of the foreigners show up in the traditional Dirndl or Lederhosen! I have been there a couple of times myself, and hope to make it down to Munich again next year...  :)

David In Indy:
They have rides there too Anke?? I didn't know that! Now I really want to go there!!  :D

Those are really good pictures Anke. Thanks for posting them! The little sleeping boy with a pretzel in his lap reminds me of one of those Hummel figurines! CUTE!!!!  :)

Of course they do have rides! The best ones!   ;D

It's all very expensive, though, as is the whole Oktoberfest-experience. One Mass (liter) of beer costs between € 7 and € 8 this year.  :P
And this little fellow is my nephew who lives near Munich after his first Oktoberfest visit...  :)

David In Indy:
That's a very cute picture of your nephew Anke! Thanks for posting it!

Those rides look like a lot of fun! I never realized they had rides there. It looks like they have EVERYTHING at those Oktoberfests!

They have a fairly good Oktoberfest in Evansville, Indiana each year. They call it the "Fall Festival". Evansville is a very German town. But mostly they only had a lot of beer drinking and dancing. I don't remember seeing any rides there. Those Oktoberfests in Germany look like they are a lot of fun!!  :D
