Front-Ranger:
I made some mincemeat pie for Thanksgiving and am slightly ashamed to say I made it from jarred mincemeat.
They had it at Safeway, which is a huge chain. BUT, I had to enlist the help of a seasoned employee named Michael, who I've learned knows how to find everything in the store, no matter how obscure. He had to get down on his hands and knees in the baking aisle and peer into the depths of the lower shelf to find it.

Sounds fun!
I think I'll be staying home. I haven't been invited to any parties and I don't want to venture out on cold, icy, drunk-filled roads if I can avoid it. The predicted high here on Sunday is 4 below zero F.

In America people consider stromboli Italian food. My friend from Italy says they don't have stromboli in Italy.
LOL

damn, that is cold!!! I'm not a fan of driving on New Year's Eve, but my friends only live about 10 minutes away, so I can deal with that.

Yes, when I looked it up, it said is was an American invention. As you know, I grew up in Sydney which has a huge Italian population and I also often go to Italian restaurants when travelling but as I said I had never heard of it.
