Hiya BetterMost friends.
It's a cold, rainy day here in NJ. It's been this way almost all weekend.
I have the cookies loaded in the car already, so I don't need to worry about loading them up tomorrow. Now, I just need to get myself, my laptop and some small containers to the car tomorrow.
I also got some of my Christmas gifts in the mail, so I can start wrapping this week. ;D

--- End quote ---
It was fun, and she made me laugh so hard at one point. I'm not sure it will translate into text as "funny".....you can't hear the tone. I'll try my best.
We had run short of butter, and still had cookies to make, so we ran to the store so I could find a place to park while mom ran in and got the butter, and ran back out. Here's what happened......
Mom: Remind me again what we need?
Me: Just two boxes of unsalted butter.
Mom: Nothing else?
Me: No. Now run in, and I'll be parked over there.
(wait five minutes for mom - she comes out and hops back in)
Mom: Ok, let's go.
(I start to drive to the exit)
Me: What kind did you get?
Mom: This brand. (reaches into bag and pulls out a box of Hotel Bar butter)
Me: Mom, the box says "salted".
Mom: What?!?!?! When I got the box it said 'unsalted'!
Me: Obviously not, because it clearly says "salted".
Mom: OH GOD!!!!
(I turn the car around and go back to park)
Me: Not a tragedy mom, just go exchange it for the right kind.
The way she said "Oh God" was what made it so funny......so tragic and full of drama. For the rest of the weekend, anytime someone made a mistake, I would mimic her and scream out "OH GOD!" like she did, and we'd both start laughing.

That IS really funny, Chuck! Now we have a synonym phrase for "clutching your pearls"!!

Hiya BetterMost friends.
New work week has started, and this time next week, it will be Christmas Eve!
;D
I've become some of my wrapping, but still waiting for other gifts to arrive.
Cookie baking went well, and I posted pics in one of the holiday threads. ;D There's only a few cookies left over for tomorrow, most have been eaten by coworkers. ;D

Great anecdote about your mom! I remember your mom has a sense of humor from some previous anecdotes.
When a recipe calls for unsalted and I have salted on hand I just use it and it never seems to make much difference (though it might help that I like salt). So I especially love the drama of OH GOD!!
