I know, but I'll just add it to my list of paranoid theories. It's a pedophilia ring planning a meth lab and it's all run by Hillary Clinton.

Thanks!
--- Quote --- They offered WAY over the asking price, and waived the inspection completely.
Like you, I could have waited for an open house an a potential bidding war (or not).

Well, WAY over the asking price is pretty much as good as a bidding war. My deal isn't quite that advantageous. The good thing is that since I don't even have to list it, I can skip all the sprucing and fixing and cleaning and gardening. I mean, I'll try to hand it over reasonably clean but it won't be as challenging as in the past, especially when it dragged on.
And bonus, the painter was supposed to come yesterday -- the guy does want me to go ahead and paint everything gray, as is de regueur these days -- but luckily the painter screwed up and didn't come. That means I can wait to have it painted until after I've packed up the pictures on the walls and some of the other stuff.

That must be a huge relief.
Where are you moving to?

Thanks, Chuck! It is indeed a huge relief.
I'm probably going to look for something around here, a residential part of the city. The only other possibility is this little town maybe 20 minutes from here. It's technically a suburb but used to be a small town and it's still structured that way -- a lively main street, train stop, etc. It's also not far from where I grew up, which unfortunately was a typical suburbia suburb that made me realize how much I prefer walkable downtown places.
I've also come to realize I don't like to move to unfamiliar locations. Unless it's (not totally unfamiliar) Denver. That's still on the table. I'm just waiting for my lottery winnings or a huge surprise inheritance to make it possible for me to quit my current job.
Jeff Wrangler:
Congratulations. :)
I'm sure everything will go fine.
Once you're out, if the meth lab blows up, it's not your problem. ;D

Thank you! You're right. And until then, I'll know where I can get meth when I need some.

??? ??? ???
Chuck is a wonderful name, a great name, all the Chucks I know (one) are among my favourite people.
But, and this is crucial, it's not my name
