the actual holiday is Dec 25, and then Jan 1st for New Year's Day. The rest of the days are just full of holiday activities.

I personally don't agree with this, but I get it, retailers are going to squeeze out every possible day of sales.
--- Quote from: serious crayons on December 05, 2021, 02:54:05 pm ---No. The actual holiday arguably lasts two days, possibly a week if you count the holiday spirit that lingers through New Year's Day ... and then ends abruptly, dumping you into the brutal reality of January.

I like January, cold days, snow, and of course, my birthday! ;D
Front-Ranger:
I like January too! So relaxing after the hustle and bustle of December. And... ice climbing! And...Chuck's birthday!

And we know you also like the long dark nights of winter.
You're weird, but we love you. Sweetie! :-* :-* :-*
Front-Ranger:
Aw, thank you, friend. I also like being weird.
Here is a poem about the dark.
To Know the Dark by Wendell Berry
To go in the dark with a light is to know the light.
To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight,
and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!
Whew, last week was a busy week. I'm glad it's over.
Yesterday was the holiday lunch at work. Spent a lot of the morning setting up for the lunch, and then going to get the cake. Then, of course was the clean up after the meal. Of course, I still had customer requests to handle, so I had to keep watching the laptop for emails.
After spending the full week in the office, I'm back to working from home today and tomorrow. I still have to run to the office today, because (like an idiot) I managed to leave my laptop's power cord at my cubicle. I have reports to run at 10:00, so once I pull them, I can run up, get the cord and come back home.
::)
Saturday I'll be at mom and dad's place, my brother, sister-in-law, and Trent are coming by, and we'll be decorating their tree.
