Too bad. To get six inches is a good thing. ...

As I was shoveling off the entryway yesterday I had a question. The snow, which had fallen light and fluffy last week, had turned to slush, and was heavy to clear off. But shouldn't it have weighed the same as it did when it was fresh fallen? How does snow get heavier when it turns to water?

Sason:
Because the wetter it is, the denser it is and the more you get on the shovel each time.
When it's light and fluffy it's mixed in with more air.

Front-Ranger:
Oh, that makes sense, thank you! You sound like you're very familiar with snow!
