Sason:
So sorry to hear about you being sick and your wasted efforts Chuck.

Feel better soon!  :-*

Front-Ranger:
So sorry you're under the weather, friend! BTW, I got your card, thank you kindly!

Maybe this is a sign to be more gentle with yourself and cut back the cookie making to sustainable levels. Nobody is hovering above your Mom's house counting the cookies and checking them off of an inventory sheet. When you overdo like that, you make yourself more vulnerable to whatever bad bugs are going around.

I had this happen to me last summer. I was so driven with my yard work that when my family and I were exposed to COVID, I was the only one who came down with it.

serious crayons:
So sorry that happened, Chuck! All that effort. And now you're sick on top of it. Major bummer.

The one slight silver of a silver lining is that hopefully you'll feel better by Christmas.

What FRiend said. ... I'm sure you and your mother enjoy the baking together, but maybe it is time for you and your mother to cut back a little. Maybe not make so many kinds, or maybe start a little earlier and allow "a day of rest" between making different varieties?

Or--dare I say it?--cut back on your recipient list, so you don't have to make so many. Your mother is how old now? And, let's face it, you ain't gettin' any younger. People may miss your cookies, but they will understand.

Hope you feel better soon!
