I'm at the office now, and according to my calendar, today's travel stop is Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.
In this vibrant city of festivals, where celebrations and processions number more than 20 a year, the Lavagem De Igreja do Bonfirm - which starts today and lasts for 8 days- is one of the most fascinating. African hymns sound through the city and women dressed in white parade through the streets and wash church steps in honor of the Virgin Mary.
