It was based on Earl Hamner (producer, writer and director of the show) and his familys life in rural Virgina duringthe depression.
I loved the two sisters who sold their daddies medical elixer "The Recipe" which was actually moonshine! LOL
I really loved that show.

Oh, yes, Miss Mamie and Miss Emily!

I alternately had a crush on Ben and John Boy.  Even back then LOL.

Aaaah. Yes, Think I remember. The Waltons, that is. Not the depression.
Seem to remember them as a TV cartoon.  :-\

They may have done a cartoon version, it seems vaguely familar.

So much Waltons info today!

Well, I had to get to work early today, it's Pam's bday, and I had to decorate her cubicle and get her card signed by everyone!

Cell phone pics aren't too good, but I think I did an okay job.

Let us not forget the Carol Burnett parody, something about "The Walnuts" who lived on "Walnut's Mound."  :D

OMG, I loved Carol Burnett!

My friend Tina and I have watched the series on DVD, and laugh our asses off at the stupidest things.

One of our fave skits was what we call "Crazy Patsy and the lighthouse"....
