Lumière:
I can hear the thunder of hooves
on the not-so-distant plain.
I can feel the dryness of the air,
I can taste the dust rising to the sky..
Horse manes flap in the wind;
nostrils flare as tireless limbs
carry their riders on their charge
through the not-so-distant plain..

No one knows how he gained his talent.  He was the modern man.
He was sartorially correct, for the mid victorian grand.
There was a certain air of him, he carried with aplomb.
A mystery to his keen mind.  Were merely products of its sums.
He was a clue collector.  A very smart man indeed.
He had his trusty friend, to help.  And his arch enemy to
                                                                defeat.

Lumière:
He sits in silence,
waiting for the water to boil.
A pot of tea sounds good
after a day of sweat and toil..

Desert winds whistle
and fan the dying fire..
Empty bottles lie at his feet
water is his only desire..

I will either translate it or secretly take it for myself. (Hope the ransl. is correct).
- First I will try it in Englisch - one day maybe I make one in German -
