Around 10 o'clock this morning, I heard on one of the local TV stations that we had received 18 inches of snow by that time. It's now nearly 2:30 p.m. and it's still snowing.

Still snowing here, I'm about to take another comparison photo!

It stopped snowing in Philadelphia about 3:00. We are now minutes from sunset. Hard to believe, but the storm has moved out so quickly that the sun, though just above the western horizon, is actually visible.

Jeff Wrangler:
According to the local NBC-affiliate evening news, the official snowfall total for Philadelphia is 28.5 inches. I believe that exceeds the December 19, 2009, storm by 5.5 inches.

Wow, here I am in Alaska, and the weather here is more like what it normally should be in Philly.  If you're trying to show me up, you've succeeded!  ;D

Just dropping in to say a quick Hi.  The opera opens in two hours.  Wish us luck!  Thanks for the good vibes, Clarissa.  :-*

southendmd:
Break a leg, Meryl!  (And not on the snow.)
