Good morning, all!
Warm here this morning...66 degrees. Looks like it will be a nice day today. This evening, I will be attending a big fundraising dinner for breast cancer (remember everyone, October is breast cancer awareness month!). Ladies, 40 years and older, have you had your mammogram for 2006? If not, take this as a reminder to schedule one before the end of the year. Mammograms do save lives!

Yup, my brother's daughter's mother recently got diagnosed with breast cancer on the basis of a mammogram. Bad news, but they caught it very early that way.

Good morning! Let's start with the weather report first. 46 degrees here in Maine, and still dark enough at 6:19 am that I am not sure what the weather is going to do today.
So, last night I went to the breast cancer fundraiser with Hannah and Tony. This was the first time Hannah had ever been to an event like this and she seemed to enjoy herself. I taught her how to bid at a silent auction and she won a very nice pair of turqoise, pearl, and spiny oyster earrings. Then they had a live auction. I am not sure what got into me (it might have been Hannah nudging me in the ribs) but I got into a bidding frenzy against Dan of Rowe Ford. Lori Vornas (a DJ on a local radio station) was egging me on too. So anyway, when all was said and done, I had spent LOTS and LOTS of money on a chair (of all things!). Okay, so it is a really, really nice chair. Really nice for sitting and watching Brokeback Mountain on TV perhaps? Of course, now I need to redecorate my home to find a place for it. Ack!

All in a good cause leslie!
