OMG!!!     That is so wrong!    LOL.

Even if they have a metal detector and it sounded when you went thru, they are still not supposed to ask that.    They are supposed to use a hand held metal detector to narrow down the point of the alarm.   Then they should allow for a private screening to resolve the alarm.  Then if a weapon was concealed on your leg they can arrest ya.

Of course, I have no idea what the Security is like at a non-Federal facility.

I'm guessing he was flirting with you!     Maybe we should call ya sexy legs from now on?

Yes, he was a cutie! And I didn't even make the machine beep when I walked through (I had already removed my belt, jewelry, watch, and flash drive). You'd have to ask him whether I deserve the Sexy Legs designation or not, but I'd be happy to try it on for size!!
