LOL!   Actually,  I did get confused for a Policeman more than once!

When you drive a Crownvic, you quickly notice that when you are behind someone on the Interstate they move over to get out of your way.    This happened alot.   So I ordered a spot light for the drivers front windshield post.   Now the car really looked intimidating from the front.      I could drive 80 MPH on the Interstate and even the Troopers waved to me.  It was great.

One day when on my lunch break, I went to the Post Office.  As I was trying to pull out and turn right into traffic  ( I was looking left to see if it was clear)  I saw an opening and turned right and hit the gas!    WHAM!    I plowed right into the back of a big Chevy Impala that had stopped at a traffic light!       When the driver stepped out of the Impala, he was in full Police uniform!   It was an unmarked Police car!     My stomach knotted.     He looked at our bumpers mated together then walked over to my open window.   "Look buddy" he said.  "Neither of our cars has any damage and I don't think either of us want to sit in our stations writing paperwork.  I'm on my lunch break and I borrowed this car from the motorpool.  How bout we shake hands and go our separate ways?  After all,  I kinda stopped short on you."

I was speachless.   I shook his hand and squeeked out a "You Bet" and drove off.    LOL

Ha ha ha!    True story Roland I asure you!

Tell you what,  thankgoodness that was in 1991 when those cars had big chromed steel bumpers.    If that same thing happened today both cars would have had their plastic bumpers fall off!    I think back then when I got to work, I looked at my front bumper and saw that one of the rubber bumper guards was scuffed and my license plate was bent.   LOL.
