Warm and sunny here, and almost 11 in the morning. Where is everybody? Wake up, sleepyheads!

No surprize. We know that we are easy targets for humor. People are nervous and frustrated at the Airports anyways, so they take it out on us. Humor is a good defense to their own insecurites.
If the general public went thru the actual training we go through, they would never complain about Security at Airports again.
As our Trainers keep reminding us: "You keep bombs from getting on Planes. What more important job is there?"
Yet here in CT a local Supermarket chain which is unionized was about ready to go on strike. They interviewed a guy who stocks shelves. He's been there 15 years, gets almost $25 an hour. He is furious that they want $5 a month for full Medical.
This guy needs a reality check! And a swift kick in the ass. It makes me sick to think I go thru endless training, mandatory testing and recertification, constant pressure to keep the lines moving and make sure I don't miss any bomb components. All for FAR less than that guy. And Congress must approve all money allocated into the TSA. So we can't hire additional Officers or even a pay raise (God forbid) without the President asking Congress.
And trust me. Just because Bush wants to send more troops to Iraq doesn't mean he wants the TSA. He'd rather it was left to the private sector.
The US has it pretty cushy here. Try flying through Israel and seeing what their Security is like!
