Damn Snow!

My airport was pretty much closed by 4 pm.    All the flights had left or been cancelled due to the Nor Easter.       So as I watched the snow pile up outside the window at work, all I could think of was the terrible drive home at 8 pm.   That plus digging my way into the driveway.  Then it dawned on me.   No planes = no work!      Management was encouraging people to voluntarily leave early.    I decided to use a few hours of my Comp time and go home.     Good thing I did.   The ride home was terrible.   The Highways were jammed and crawling at 15-20 mph.      Then half way home the snow turned to sleet and freezing rain.       I spun my wheels up my snow covered driveway.    Nothing like having to go shovel 7 inches of snow after a white knuckle drive home.     Of course no sooner did I finish when the city snow plow came barreling down the street.     It is still sleeting and snowing out.   They said we may get another 6-7 inches by morning.    I'll go shovel then.   I'm knackered out!

Northeaster, abbreviated Nor'easter (the weathermen in Maine won't say it that way. The had a poll and the viewers all thought it sounded corny and fake). A true northeaster refers to the way the storm comes into the area, swirling and bringing in moisture from the ocean, which usually results in high winds and lots and lots of snow.

David, was this really a northeaster or just a late winter sloppy mess? Sounds like the latter from what I read but how would I know...I am just on the other side of the ocean! LOL

Sort of grey here today and cooler. We are off in an hour or so to head to Holland and the New England brokie get together.
