The Movie is Parrish early 60's not sure what year.  The R stand for Raike, the name of the cotton baron that Parrish's (Troy Donahue) Mother (Claudette Colbert) marries.  It was filmed somewhere in New England... I'm illiterate where vehicles are concerned.  ::)
