It is still topping out in the 80s down here in NC. Today is my day to go to the state fair for the first time ever!! I am looking forward to lots of fried stuff. It was raining this morning, but has cleared up for now...

Well, I opted for the fried coke instead. I also had fried pickles. My friend had fried reese's peanut butter cups. The next thing I would opt to try would be fried peanut butter and jelly.
Do you know what funnel cakes taste like? My fried coke was basically funnel cake in a cup with coke syrup drizzled over top... a little bit of a let down actually, but I loved the fried pickles! My friend said the fried reese's cup tasted like reese's cup wrapped in funnel cake... (In case anyone is wondering, the fried pickles are fried in a different type of batter than the sweet stuff.)
