Oh wait......  that costs even more money.   LOL

Sigh... time to buy a lottery ticket.

Meanwhile,  I just got an email from a buddy who wants me to join him on a Cruise.  11 days, fly to London,  take the train to SouthHampton and then back on the new Queen Mary 2 into NewYork City.       A dream cruise for sure!    But alas, I don't have 11 days of time off.

 :o :P :'( :( :-\

you cant take off the time even unpaid?

David:
It is more complicated than that.

We have a new system now.    We have to bid on our vacation time by seniority.   :P

AND!    you can only bid for time already earned.    We earn 8 hours of vacation time a month.    So if you want a week off six months from now, you must already have 40 hours of vacation time earned in your account.    Even though in those 6 months you will have earned another 6 days off.

So if you use your time off up, then you can't even request for another week for at least 5 more months when you have earned 5 more days.     Then you have to wait for a bid and hope that nobody with seniority over you wants that same time off.

This makes for planning a trip in advance VERY difficult.    Especially considering that you need to book airfare in advance to get a good price.

Stupid Governrment Beaurocratic idiotic red tape!    >:(

so they give you benefits...then set it up so you can't USE them..

Nice!

David:
Very True.

And don't even get me started on Sick time!

We have some people with literally hundreds of hours of sick time accrued.    Then again, we have many with none.  The earn and burn it.

The one nice thing they let us do is donate sick time to another employee if they need to be out for a long time recovering from an operation or something like that.

David:
Ok,  this may seem out of the blue but I just read this on another site and almost peed myself laughing......

<<Oh, quick story . When I was a kid my family was driving behind a garbage truck when a dildo flew out and thumped against the windshield. Embarrassed, trying to spare my youthful innocence, my mother turns around and says, "Don't worry, honey. That was an insect." I replied, "I'm surprised it could get off the ground with a &*$@ that big." >>
