MaineWriter:
Saturday morning in Maine...damp and foggy right now. I suspect it will clear up.

Since David isn't here with the stats report...I'll have to pinch hit.

Lucise still leads the pack, followed closely by Victoria. Pipedream is the newest member of the 2000 posts club, with 2003. I'm next. David and Chris are neck and neck, although there probably won't be much change this weekend, as David is in Watkins Glen and Chris is in the hospital. Celeste is hanging out in 1500 land and Clarissa, Katherine, and Lee all hope to make 1400 sometime this weekend.

"I'M BACK!"  ;D

Phew!   Long drive!

It was almost 6 hours to Watkins Glen, NY from Hartford, CT!      Fridays drive out was great!   It was mostly sunny the entire trip.   Route 17  has some real scenic parts up thru the mountains.    And Watkins Glen looks like a great place to live if you want rustic lakeside charm.  I had breakfast this morning at a local Mom and Pop family style restaraunt.   Those are the best places!    Unfortunately the morning greeted us with torential downpours which tapered off to a steady rain all day.     I was wondering if I was crazy for driving up there.   But when I arrived to the lakeside state park, there were already 100+ PT Cruisers lined up at the gate!    YAAA!   Wet insane Car folks!

Just one row of over 100 PT Cruisers on display lakeside!
Mine is the dark blue one in the middle!

LOL, David!! I'm on the road myself, in my Prius. Not nearly as lovely as yours, but it gets good mileage and allows me to indulge my wanderlust. Had a good ride down I-25, the same route Jack would have taken from Wyoming to Pueblo, Colorado, where he probably veered off toward the panhandle of Texas. I kept going south though, stopping at Trinidad for lunch on the Colorado/New Mexico border. Then through the highlands of NM, Taos, Eagle's Nest, and Santa Fe, finally down into Albuquerque. It was a sweet ride. I was drenched by downpours, beaten on by the sun, and saw 15 antelope. Listened to some good music all the way.
