--- Quote from: Penthesilea on August 23, 2008, 07:30:58 am ---I'm bummed today >:(.

Last night Kerstin and I went to see TDK for the second time. There's a restaurant in the theatre were we had a bite to eat before the movie started. Ten minutes into the film, Kerstin leaned over and wispered: "I'm so nauseous." Five minutes later we had to leave the theatre.
Ack! So frustrating.

Poor Kerstin felt bad about causing us to leave the movie, but it ain't her fault.

Ten minutes ago I received bad news in the mail. I had applied for a job, the first time in fourteen or so years. The job would have been great for me, nine hours work time per week and it would have been in my pfofession, and something I really would have wanted to do.
After applying, I got a pretty quick response in which they invited me to a job interview. Great! The first try in so many years and they invited me for an interview.
The interview would have been next week, but today they cancelled it. They withdraw the job advertisement completely. Now I'm wondering whether they won't fill the vacant job at all or whether someone has pulled strings and the job went to somebody with good connections. :-\
Frustrating either way.

I'm catching up on this thread too... I'm so sorry to hear about both of these bummers Chrissi.  {{Chrissi}}

Well, I'm sure TDK will be in the theatres for quite a long time, so I'm sure that you'll be able to see it again sometime.  And, maybe the whole job situation was just fate telling you that that wasn't the right job afterall.  I'm sure a great opportunity will come along.

Paul, how cool for you!   You didn't by any possible chance have Lureen's red hat with you at the time, did you?

I'm still several pages behind the times on this thread, so forgive if this has been said.

My guess is that James Schamus would totally love to be gently and respectfully accosted by an appreciative BBM admirer.  'Course, he might be a little sore if you asked him what the hell he was thinking with the BBM hippie scene.  On the third hand, if you were to say, "Decided to turn that deleted BBM hippie scene into a whole movie, hunh?" he might be surprised, and pleased.

So - Provincetown - do you think he might be gay?  He has a wife, don't he?  So that means he couldn't possibly be gay.  (Actually, I do mean this as a genuine question.)

Elle, I don't actually carry around Lureen's red hat with me; not even during Carnival.  Plus it's tiny.  Anne must be a little waif for sure.

Clever idea about making lemonade out of that lemon of a hippie scene.

Even though I have facetiously referred to him as Aunt James, he made frequent reference to his wife during the talk with Uncle Ang in NYC.  I suppose he must have friends here.  Plus, it's not all that far from the goings-on in Vermont/NY.

--- Quote from: southendmd on August 20, 2008, 07:55:02 pm ---Um, not to change the subject or anything...

I just ran into James Schamus, here in Provincetown!

Unfortunately, he was on his phone, or I would have said "howdy".  It is Carnival Week here, the theme is "Wild, Wild West";  how appropriate that James should be here.

I can't imagine that he gets stopped on the street very often!

That is extremely cool, Paul!  :-* :-* :-*
