All right, everyone--off to dinner and to see "Billy Ellliott: The Musical" at 7:30 pm. I will report back...

David:
Lucky Stiff!    The concierge at my Hotel couldn't get us tickets for Billy Elliott at short notice.   We ended up seeing "The Producers" which was excellent also!

I loved getting dressed up for dinner and a show in London!   :D

Good Afternoon Leslie!

I hope you have plenty of time to walk around and see all the handsome men in London!   The streets are crawling with them during the work week it seems!  All in their dark pinstriped suits and proper haircuts.   Yum!

I saw where your hotel is on the map.   Not too far from Hyde Park where I was staying at the Dorchester.     I probably walked right by yours.   I remember walking from the Marble Arch across past Selfridges Department store and over to Picadily and then thru covent Gardens.

Try to get over to see the Diana Memorial fountain at Hyde Park.   It is very peaceful.

Have fun!   And Mind the Gap!   LOL.

Greetings!!

Day two in London. I am wasting an incredible amount of time trying to get the Internet working in my room. They finally gave up on room 401 and moved me to 418. The good news is that 418 is 10x the size of my old room so I am much more comfortable. I also have a view of Oxford Street.

So....last night, jet lagged and all, I went off with my friends Linda and Margaret to see "Billy Elliott: The Musical." Folks, I have to say, this was the most INCREDIBLE show I have ever seen in my life. I thought I was in for an evening of entertainment and, in an eerie feeling reminiscent of seeing Brokeback Mountain the first time, I felt like it was life changing. Not the story so much (although the story is very powerful) but to see so much incredible talent present in every single detail of the entire performance--it just sort of blew my mind. My friend Margaret, who lives in NY and has seen many more shows than I ever have, also thought it was the greatest thing she had ever seen in her life. Truly amazing. If anyone is planning a trip to London in the near future, order tickets NOW. You'll be glad you did.

That's all for now...so far, not much sightseeing today....
