My uncle used to do that, and we loved it. We look back and refer to years as "the one J. gave us all little squeaking stuffed pigs," or "the one J. gave us big heavy keys." We loved it, and it was very unifying. Good call.

18 degrees this morning with lots of bright sun. We got walloped with a foot of snow yesterday but my husband and son seemed to be very efficient with the shoveling. I'm off to work shortly. Hannah has the day off -- schools are closed.
