Hiya Chrissi!  It's cold here, but most (if not all) of the snow has melted away.

Happy Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras/Fastnacht everyone!

Sadly Fastnacht (we say Fasching) took place without us today. I don't like Fasching for myself, but traditionally we go to the parade on Sunday and to the Kinderfasching on Tuesday. Kinderfasching is a big and loud party for the kids with music and fun games in the gym. The kids wear their costumes and run around like crazy while we adults sit in the back, chat and drink coffee (as you easily see we're not Texans ;)).

Today my poor baby was sick though. Nothing serious thankfully, just some kind of bug. He had been looking forward to this day for weeks, planned exactly what costume to wear, and was just so excited about it. He cried when I told him that we can't go. Aww, my poor baby, I felt so badly for him.

Aww, I'm so sorry your baby had to miss all the fun, and you, too.  A GDBOAUS fer sure!  But it's a good excuse to plan a treat later.  :)

Aww, that's so awful when it's something that happens only once a year. When I was in First Grade I almost missed Halloween because I had chickenpox, so I feel for him. Hope he feels better soon.

awww....Chrissi, I'm sorry that your little guy was sick and missed out on a party.
