Signed to Next Plateau records, lead Betty LeBron (also known as Betty Dee), and sisters Margie and Mari Hernandez formed Sweet Tempation. Just as they were to release their first single, they received word they couldn't use that name, due to legal issues with the group The Tempations.

Renamed Sweet Sensation, the group released their first song "Hooked On You". It became a big dance hit, and crossed over to the pop charts.

As their debut CD was released, (after a move to major label Atco Records) Mari left the group and was replaced by Sheila Vega.

After two big dance hits (Take It While It's Hot & Never Let You Go), the group released what was supposed to be the last single from the CD, "Sincerely Yours".

"Sincerely Yours" became a surprise Top 20 pop hit. Wanting to strike while the iron was hot, Atco re-released the first song "Hooked On You" with a new video, and it got to #23 on the pop charts this time.
