Dolly Parton is a "gay icon."

I always balk at lists with names like "50 [fill in the blank] of all time," but the oldest [blank] on the list is from only 30 years ago.  What about the previous centuries of [blanks]?

Kelda:
If ita oz-centric - what about Man downunder!

Brown Eyes:
Well, my initial reaction to the list is that it seems to almost exclusively reflect things associated with gay male culture... and probably a lot of club culture.  Aside from K.D. Lang... tons of prominent musicians associated with lesbian culture are omitted here.  I mean, there's not even a Melissa Etheridge song listed here (no Ani Difanco, etc., etc.).

It's such a pet peeve of mine when lesbian culture is so separated out from gay culture in general.

lmao!

Good list....but where's Eartha Kitt's "I Love Men" and "Where Is My Man"?

and Miquel Brown's "So Many Men (So Little Time)?

and Hazell Dean's "Searchin' (Gotta Find A Man)?
