New Feature: The Power of Words - Today's Affirmations

(1/2) > >>

Phillip Dampier:
As part of the ongoing purpose of BetterMost, to help people move beyond the film itself and to make positive changes in one's life, I introduce Tips for Living The Power of Words - Today's Affirmations (the new name is more descriptive), which I will try and update each day or so with short, positive affirmations.  In addition to making them a news item which you can see on the home page of the forum, I'll also post them here.  What I've heard suggested from more than one authority on matters of the mind is that especially meaningful affirmations should be jotted down on a 3x5 index card and put in a place where you will see it often.  The theory goes that the more you see and read and repeat it, the more impact it can have.

For those on the journey towards change and improvement, let's not forget our goals.  If you're new, this means making a list of things that Brokeback Mountain brought up inside of you.  Figure out which of these can be managed by making a course correction in life (particularly lost opportunities), prioritize them in order of importance to you, and feel free to share them here on BetterMost in the Our Daily Thoughts forum, and with all of our support, we'll move forward on them together.

Phillip Dampier:
Today's tip for living: All of my energy is focused on what is meaningful, moves me forward and makes a difference.

Phillip Dampier:
"Go confidently in the directions of your dreams; live the life you’ve imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler." - Henry David Thoreau

This seems especially true for the goals of this forum.

Phillip Dampier:
Today I am choosing a tip for living that reinforces the need for people to consider positive thinking over the negative, especially as we work towards improving ourselves and making positive changes in our lives!

I use my mind for positive change: a workable solution, a better alternative, or a productive plan rather than wasting my mental energy criticizing and pointing out faults.

Phillip Dampier:
Today's Tip for Living: (with apologies to those down under) The long winter is ending.  The season for a new you has begun.  This spring is the start of your new life.
