What's Your Favorite Junk Food?

(1/13) > >>

Brown Eyes:

So, I know we all try to be health conscious, responsible adults about our eating habits.  But, I think we all have secret, favorite junk foods.  Some are nostalgic for our childhoods and some are newly discovered.

It would be fun if folks could name specific brands and share stories about these foods too.

Another great poll, Amanda!

I chose potato chips - barbecue flavored specifically.

Pizza - I prefer a thin crust, but I won't turn away from a thick crust.  I like mushrooms, black olives and anchovies as toppings.  I know most people hate anchovies, but I love them on pizza.  Luckily, my husband and son like them, too!

Soft pretzels - they're actually pretty easy to make at home.

Good chocolate - Although I know there can be a big difference in the quality of chocolates,  I don't think I ever met a chocolate I didn't like   :)  (I don't like white chocolate at all,  but I don't think that really qualifies as chocolate.)

Brownies - which would be my "Other" choice.  I like to underbake my brownies, just slightly, and add walnuts.

optom3:
I chose cotton candy, funnel cake, pastries, fried chicken and chocolate.
The cotton candy which is called candy floss in U.K reminds me of my first ever fair, on holiday with my parents in Scotland age about 5.
Funnel cake is new to me,since moving here but I just lurve it.
Pastries has to be all butter pain au chocolat.Which also have to be warmed in the oven and I then split them open and cover with butter. All the butter and melted chocolate run together, and my arteries run for the hills. It is the one good thing about my oldest son,he gives me so much stress I burn off everything I eat!!!!
Colonel sanders fior fried chicken,my favourite junk take out.
Chocolate, anything as long as it is not Hersheys, sorry cannot get a taste for it.I eat Lindt with hazelnuts and order in Cadburys flake and after 8 mints from the U.K.But really I am not that fussy any chocolate will do in an  emergency, except as mentioned te H stuff.I guess you need to have been born here to like it.

Wow Lynne!  I'm very impressed by the thoroughness of your answer!

I agree that there are many more things on this list that I really like than just the 5 that I set as the voting limit.

I voted for ice cream, pizza, pie (mostly fruit pies... but occasionally I like cream pies... I love banana cream pie), pastries and fried chicken.  All of these things except for fried chicken are some of my "regular" fallback comfort foods.  Fried chicken is something I crave about once a year... but when I do crave it, it's an almost overwhelming urge.

:)

ps.  You've never tried a Fluffer-nutter?  It's a peanut butter sandwich made with marshmallow fluff... and white bread of course.  They are surprisingly good and decadent in their sugary-ness.
