thank you Jane. "tug at the heart" is great to hear. While I was concern with language and style, I first and foremost want the story to connect on an emotional level, so your reaction is good to hear.

it surprises me that your reaction is quite similar to how I was writing. I too was following Philip with interest, as I was writing. When I/he started going through Mulholland, I really didn't know where he/the sotry was going. I was just along for the ride, it seemed to me. Those themes of shadows and myst, dreams and memories, fears and release, were vague moods that was weaving in and out of my mind and really revealed themselves in my description of the road and the night sky of LA.

I'm curious, did you have a great big long fanfic that you anihilated? What was it called? I have read so many, now I can't find all the ones that I was following... maybe yours was one of them, hunh??
