I will NEVER forget that. It was one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had. It might have been a dream, but I don't think it was because I jumped up out of bed just after it disappeared. I was definately awake then.
A dream? I doubt it. And I really believe it happened. I have some ideas why this happened to me, but it sure did scare me.
I hope that NEVER happens to me again. >:(

Don't laugh my Mother had several encounters with a dark shadow entity. The first time was when she was 6 years old and her 12 year old cousin had just died from cardiac complications of Rheumatic Fever. She awoke suddenly and inexplicably to see a dark shape hovering over her, she said she could see no details just the shape and it descented upon her but never actually touched her. She could feel it place it's "hands" on either side of her and the bed gave with the weight. When she screamed it vanished but the impressions in the sheets and feather mattress remained.
This entity continued to plague my Mom through out her childhood and into her late teens. The last encounter was when she was 19 just after she had given birth to my oldest brother it actually touched her and settled it's weight upon her, she said she could even feel it's hot breath on her neck. My Dad was in the military and had just come home early in the morning after standing watch, when he heard her scream and come flying out of the bedroom. He said she only hit two steps on her way down the stairs. He searched the house and found nothing.
Six months later the were transferred out of Norfolk Virginia and the experiences stopped. Mom always said whatever it was it was evil, she could feel it, it wanted her to be scared it wanted to harm her.

See? That sounds very similar to what happened to me. But it only happened to me one time, thank God. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy.
It was really, really awful! :(
