Today the National Review, a leading conservative journal, published their opinion that the problem in Iraq is that American soldiers are lazy.
We don't necessarily require an increase in overall troop strength. We’ve got lots of soldiers sitting on megabases all over Iraq. this is someone that KNOWS he is safe...he knows he won't pay for the rhetoric he is spewing. OTHER people's children will. It is easy to say what others should do when you have no dog in the fight...
reminds me of a little dog that sets the big dogs to fight so he can sit and watch...

Conservatives are an incredibly diverse group. Many of them are good about hiding it, though, because 1. many of them hate diversity and try to pretend they don't show it, and 2. they know how important it is to unite to accomplish things. Everybody knows compartmentalized thinking and hypocrisy are characteristic of conservative thinking, but the same is true of the conservative body politic. Conservatives are forever plastering over divisions among themselves. And one conservative group hides their motives from another group. Rich Republicans who don't want the tax laws tampered with try to blend in with middle class and poor fundamentalists with opposite financial interests.
