It's set in No. California Shasta. The movie was filmed in Detroit, but Bobby lived in California. I forget the name of the town.
Signourney Weaver is really good as the mother, but I think Meryl Streep would have been an excellent choice too. I can easilly see her playing the part of the mother.

He's going to his cousin's in Portland. That's good. (I think.) She seems nice.
Maybe not the best idea to have his friends from the Rocky show meet him at his house. LOL.
