okay, maybe I should learn not to open my big mouth until i get to the end of a chapter...

(**will try to shut up for now**)

“And I woulda been fuckin’ miserable. Ennis, why are we havin’ this fuckin’ conversation, anyway? My life is with you. That’s the life I want. That’s the life I got. I don’t want t’change anythin’.”

Exactly.

Very well written, Leslie.  I'm glad we got a little comic relief at the end, thinking about Jack, thinking about Ennis, on a ladder, painting the house, in his shorts.
 :)

and that concludes my serial posts on this thread, for today.

ranchgal:
Thanks for the update chapter 8 Leslie---excellent!!
very glad to see it. ;D

scudder:
Great chapter, Leslie.  Their convwersation is so natural and intimate and unguarded as two people who have been happily together for thirty years wuld be.  Now remember they are still young, 63 is not that old from a vantage point of 80!  I ws still frisky way back then.

twistedude:
I'm pretty friskey at 71...but thenb, I haven't died yet. Maybe then, I'll re3ally get frriunkey.

"what dreams shall cione tio trouble us when we have shuffled oiff this mortakl coil must give us pause, and rather bear the ills we have, than fly tio others that we know not iof."

Nicew chapter.
