Did you check for Harry Potter books? ;D ;)
Mikaela:
Great pictures, Meryl! Thank you for posting them. Signs do tell a history within a picture, and add a dimension....that first sign-post pointing back to NYC... and to Brussels! :) And I think I about lost it at the Wasilla Public Library. No fires anywhere, I trust? ;)
ETA: Chrissi, I was typing while you were posting... seems great minds think quite alike! ;D
Aloysius J. Gleek:
Meryl, you (sled)dog, you are too sly!
Wecome back to New York! The earmuffs are très chic--and needed!

:o :o :o :o :o
Hey! Sly Alaska has taken the North Pole for its own? While all the long while, Norway and Finland have been endlessly feuding over which one of those two nations has the right to the North Pole and its post office?!? I am schocked, horrified and dismayed!
;)
But it does make my question about possibly seeing Santa up there even more relevant than I thought! ;D

Thanks for noticing, Kelda! Actually, I bought them shortly after the Wasilla pic was taken, in a charming little town called Talkeetna. They're made of Alaskan rabbit fur. 8)

Alas, no. Was hopin' to see them when we were up in Fairbanks, but they didn't cooperate. I got sore from craning my neck to look out for them! :P
Hey, Chrissi, thanks for the reminder about M*A*S*H*'s signpost. That takes me back a few years! And no, we didn't have time to check for Harry Potter books in the Wasilla Library, but I bet they're there after all the controversy. ;D

Wikipedia says the town was named that in 1953 to attract a toy manufacturer. Now it attracts Santa fans and folks like me who want to send cards with the North Pole postmark! ;)
