Ang Lee and "Top 25 Active Directors"
Aloysius J. Gleek:
The ordering of EW's 'Film Directors' list is a little bit, um, perversely eccentric, I have to say....

Now this made me go woot! Should be interesting.
I saw the EW list of directors some days ago and just rolled my eyes at it. Even as a die-hard "Rings" fan I'm not at all sure that Peter Jackson deserves the second place. And as for Ang Lee's modest placement, that's nonsense. They must be judging the directors largely on how much cash they've raked in.

Maybe his mental/emotional age?

LOL! ;D
But seriously, whatever has Chris Nolan done to deserve his placement? The list of film's he's made.... OK, again with the raking in the cash. That has to be the main criteria here.
I am very curious to see how Peter Jackson's "Lovely Bones" will be. Whether he'll manage the return to a restrained and intimate depiction of ordinary settings, everyday lives and strong human emotions after those various SFX-riddled mega-blockbusters. King Kong IMO saw the director indulging himself in Special effects extravaganza to a downright embarrassing degree. Enough T-Rexes, already! ::)
