Re-opening the discussion of having a large Tremblayan Brokie DVD Release Party!
newyearsday:
Hey Tremblayans,
It's a lovely Saturday in spring (and we're all inside talking to eachother here--LOL)...What more could be better? Well, here's the return to the topic of having a DVD Release Screening Party!!
I seem to remember that some Chicagoans were talking about this, and that we mentioned doing it the weekend of the 16th--which is Easter weekend. I and many others have the day off on Good Friday, making it a very good weekend for travel.
If others from NY can share the driving and gas expenses, I might be up for doing a road trip or possibly getting a plane ticket to go to Chicago. There's a lot of Brokies here in NYC, and then there's the Connecticut bunch too--Paul and David and others I think. Maybe David studly and Brandon and littleguitar Mandy (I think you're from the mid-west right?) could also make it. And maybe even Nicole from Toronto! Who knows, we could have a huge crowd!
So, I'm just thinkin outloud....what do y'all say??
cmr107:
I would absolutely LOVE to, and I'd like to submit my vote for Chicago, but ARG!! Not Easter weekend! I have that Friday off too and I was going to go home (far away!) that weekend! Any other time people could make it?
newyearsday:
Well, I am going away the next weekend, the 21st..so the 8th and 9th would be the other obvious choice, but that is only in a week!
We could do it late April, I guess. And reschedule the NY Brunch.
April 8th would be about the earliest we could do it and get our DVDs in time. Course I have the advance copy of the DVD, but who knows how real it is.

cmr107:
OK, I need to stop being selfish. You're right, that would be a good weekend for people to travel. I can go home some other weekend. If people fly into O'Hare, I could probably pick them up, it's only like 20-30 minutes from my school.
Aloysius J. Gleek:
Jenny,
Due to Horrible Demands at Work and Inflexible Deadlines, I can't plan on traveling in the next six weeks--my chain just doesn't reach that far.
I remain, though, totally excited by by the notion of a 'social opportunity' in the way of Brunch in the meanwhile--do see all my well-meaning (if possibly lame) suggestions on the NY Brunch thread!
;D
