KAP!!! NOT I spent a year of my life in Kap, but I don't think Shania ever did.

She's from many places, but her adopted father (Mr. Twain) raised her in TIMMINS, my home town. Not only that, but in the early 70's, while I was away at university (and Shania was not yet a teenager), Mr.Twain bought and then lived in the house that my grandfather had built and where my mother & her 10 siblings had been born. The house was only 2 doors away from my parents house (34 Montgomery) which we just sold a couple a years ago. One of my brothers still lives on the same block. It's where I usually stay when I go up there (usually twice a year).

Shania still considers Timmins the town where she had her beginnings. At the height of her fame, she went back to Timmins and performed an open air concert for 50 000 - in a city of 42 000. It's also where the million dollar + Shania Twain Museum is located. She donates regularly to helps keep the local food bank shelves properly filled.

Not an impressive list I'm afraid.  Where are:

Rachel McAdams

Ryan Gosling

Scottt Speedman

Kevin Zegers

Sarah Polley

LauraGigs:
Hey Oilgun.  Being an annual "Top 10" list, I'm sure it rotates among all the existing beautiful celebs, including your choices.

It is quite refreshing to have the 2009 winners include people besides teen and 20-something gamines.
(Sutherland? Evangelista?  Like, OMG OMG they're old!)   ::)

David In Indy:
What about Brendan Fraser?

He was born in the U.S. but his parents are Canadian and I believe he holds a dual citizenship.
