"Moon," by Mr. Duncan Jones (once AKA "Zowie Bowie," David's son)

--- Quote from: Tony-Ranger on August 04, 2011, 09:43:00 am ---I finally saw Moon last night as part of a sci-fi film festival. In its first run here in Denver, it played for such a short time I didn't get a chance to see it. A very compelling plot, so much so that I won't say anything else for fear of spoilers. Sam Rockwell is as good as he has to be to carry the movie with only minimal support from other actors. The special effects are unobtrusive and don't look contrived or cheap. I saw quite a few nods to other science fiction films, but I didn't detect much angst from Jones' early life creeping into the film.

FWIW, Sam Rockwell has a supporting role in Cowboys & Aliens.

Front-Ranger:
I was so excited to see Moon playing in two theaters near my house!! They must have decided to re-launch it!! But then my hopes were crushed as I found it they were using Moon to telegraphically advertise the new Transformers movie.  :P

Front-Ranger:
I've decided this is the best movie I have seen in 2011. I'm just sorry I didn't get to see it when it came out in 2009. It's one I definitely have to own, on Blu-Ray if possible.

Aloysius J. Gleek:

BUMP just because.

Front-Ranger:
YES! I own this movie and friend EDelMar and I have watched it several times. It belongs in the pantheon of "What is human and what is not?" movies.
