Thank you, Lynne. Me too! I had to dig through boxes of old books at the back of a wardrobe, and noticed the  discrepancy when I consulted a dusty old prayer book, located there.

I'm not sure what the "Alberta Gathering" is, but I would consider it an honour if my Brokeback Prayer was recited as part of the ritual.

Kerry - the Alberta Pilgrimage is a trip schedule for late July.  Details can be found at this thread:

If you're feeling like travelling across the planet, you'd be most welcome.  We're still in the very early planning stages, but I'm hoping to move heaven and earth to make it, as are many here.  It promises to be a terrific opportunity to visit some of the film locations and commune with nature and other Brokies.

Hugs,
Lynne

Meryl:
Thanks for the revised version, Kerry.  I presume the four years in the Wilderness refers to the first four years after Brokeback?

Alberta is going to be really special, I'm sure.  One of the great Pilgrimages.  8)

Yes, Meryl, that is correct. The "Wilderness" there refers to the wilderness of the spirit experienced by Jack and Ennis in the four desolate years that transpired between "Well, see you around, I guess" and "Sonofabitch, sonofabitch."

David In Indy:
Kerry, I am so sorry I was laughing when I first read your prayer in my blog. I wasn't sure how I was supposed to react to it, and therefore I interpreted it as satire. Now that you have added those two extra lines to your prayer, it is absolutely beautiful. I love it!
