David In Indy:
Are any of those urban legends true? Find out! :)

Thanks, David.  :)  That was a fun read.  Some of those urban legends have been around forever, but there were a few I'd never heard about (like the "Spam" one).  It's sad - and kind of scary -  that rumors can take such a serious hold and can be so hard to combat!

The saddest one, IMO, was the demise of the Proctor and Gamble symbol.

It was such a pretty symbol, art deco'y and beautiful, but some of the Christian community refused and refused and refused to believe it was anything other than a symbol of their devil.  I even got a Christian e-mail from a fundamentalist friend years ago, outraged by the Satanic exploits of the company and harping against it.

Guess it goes to show that some people just won't let truth get in the way of a good story.

That crescent moon symbol was beautiful. I agree. :)

I couldn't look through the entire list. I'm on dial-up and the Internet was running slow, but I'm assuming that is the symbol you are talking about.

Yep, that's the one.  Lovely, very artistic and they had to get rid of it.  >:(
