Chakras and Alternative Healing...

Does anyone here know anything about chakras, and more specifically, the use of crystals to heal damaged chakras?

I think I understand the basic East Indian philosophy of chakras and energy centers:

Like most things, I think there are elements of truth and of mythology and it's hard to discern one from another.

Any theories you have are welcome, from charlatan to miracle-worker.  If the subject is too private, feel free to PM me and I'll keep your confidence.

I'm not an Adept on chakras, Lynne, but I am acutely aware of them each day when I meditate.

I was taught that the chakras should always be in alignment when meditating, to facilitate the flow of Chi (Qi) through the body.

Thanks for replying, Kerry. I apologize for taking so long to get back to this thread. Details aren't necessary but I ran across a self-proclaimed spiritual healer who basically wanted to take me for a few thousand $.

My intuition, along with some sage advice from member Celeste, served me well, and she is out of the picture and good riddance.

I don't think she was entirely wrong though. There are things within that aren't in balance - as the medical business I posted about in the Dev & Lynne thread over in Dev's blog.  I am reading some books on meditation. The new gym also offers several types of yoga for me to explore.

I am to get the stress out of my life, doctor's orders.
