In dance, a "number" is a routine.

A Bacon number is how many degrees an actor is away from Kevin Bacon. There is a game called "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon".  So, if an actor has been in a film with Kevin Bacon, their Bacon number is 1.  If they were in a film with an actor who was in a film with Kevin Bacon, their Bacon number is 2. 

Years ago, we did "Six degrees of Brokeback" and tried to connect various actors with BBM actors.
