Wondering if Cannes was still kicking itself over not showing the best and most influential movie of 2005 and that whoo, has it been almost a year since I've been in love with this movie and its characters?  :)

Another great reason to celebrate this weekend, the birthday of Brokeback Mountain.  Thanks Casey for the beautiful reminder.

As for Cannes, I read that they have always had something against Ang Lee.  I still don't know what it is.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOVIE-JACK AND MOVIE-ENNIS!  :-* We love you!

(God is that a year that has just gone by...?  :o)

Thank you, Casey, for posting this.

Very glad to see you here.  :-*

Happy anniversary, for sure!  :-* :-* :-*

Great reminder!  :)

I can't help thinking that this wonderful story was out there, and this fantastic film premiered in Venice, and in Toronto, and got quite a lot of buzz, and won the Golden Lion, and I had no clue! It didn't register at all...... I didn't know what was about to hit me until November rolled around. Boy, was I behind the times!  ::)

Since I first saw the film (in January) I've been humming "I don't want to say goodbye...." No, I still  don't wanna quit and I ain't foolin.  :) But I'll stop with these awkward movie quotes now.

Happy birthday to you, dear movie-BBM!

BBM has almost gone full cycle. When it hits HBO in October, I think that's going to be it's last option for reaching another group of viewers who have not seen the film.  I mean we started with the Venice film festival, then the Toronto film festival,  the tri city release, then release to 2nd and 3rd tier markets at the beginning of the year, opening overseas in Britian, France, Germany, etc, the  DVD being released.

Glad to see the DVD is always checked out or on hold when I go to the local library. It's still in demand.

Who knows, maybe it will be picked up by NBC in the not too distant future. I mean NBC owns Universal which owns Focus Features I believe.
