Tache (and Poof) tales

It is.. ! But sounds like youre in the process of adopting a new kitty cat!

Brown Eyes:
These posts are really interesting.  It really is like hearing about the process of taming Poof.

It's quite interesting that he knows about indoor kitty litter boxes.  Do you think he might have once had an owner before?  Or do you think he's always been a wild cat?  I wonder how he learned about litter boxes?  I've heard that it's often the mother cat who is the most important factor in any cat really learning about what a litter box is for.

Tell us more about the third cat... You mentioned that you had 3 cats in your house at one point?  Your house must be very popular with the neighborhood cats!  ;D

I was told that Poof has been fed outdoors by the 'cat lady' since he was no bigger than a rat, so no, I don't think he got much mothering - or indoor tutoring.

Well the neighbours across the street have three cats ... an older furry cat and two all-black cats of Tache's size, shape and, I believe, age. I think the two black cats, Cleopatra and Anthony, are from the same litter as Tache, though my cat, in addition to being bi-coloured, has tabby markings on his tail. Cleopatra's the dominant cat - one might say bossy - and even mean. Anthony, on the other hand, is downright skiddish, as opposed to Tache who would let anyone in the neighbourhood pet him and even pick him up, even before he became my cat. Anthony is the one who plays with Tache and Poof and has explored and played inside my house.

All this makes Poof even more of an enigma - since he's not letting anyone get close enough to touch him (me, being the exception - I have recently been able to touch his back when he's hungrily eating and to rub him behind his jaw).

Sheriff Roland:
a couple more pics from that shoot, some 10 days ago ... of Tache and Poof at play.
