Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in the frame to play Batman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt could be playing Batman in upcoming movie Justice League.
The US actor played policeman John Blake - who was eventually revealed to be the superhero's sidekick Robin - in this year's The Dark Night Rises, with Christian Bale as the caped crusader.
And according to Hitflix.com, sources say Joseph will "absolutely" be taking on the Batman role in the DC Comics adaptation, which sees superheroes unite to fight evil powers.
The blog also suggests Batman could make an appearance in Zack Snyder's upcoming Warner Brothers Superman reboot Man Of Steel, potentially in a post-credits sequence.
Joseph, who found fame in the sitcom 3rd Rock From The Sun, is currently promoting new biopic Lincoln, in which he plays the son of US president Abraham Lincoln.
Justice League is expected to be released in 2015.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt had been rumoured to be playing Batman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt will not be playing Batman in a new movie, a spokesperson for the star has said.
The US actor played policeman John Blake in this year's Batman film The Dark Night Rises, and this week it was reported that he would be taking on the iconic part himself in upcoming film Justice League.
However, Joseph's representative has now rubbished the rumours, telling Entertainment Weekly the report was completely false.
DC Comics adaptation Justice League sees superheroes unite to fight evil powers.
It is expected to be released in 2015.

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Joseph Gordon-Levitt stopped by "Sesame Street" this week to help out with a vocabulary lesson. The "Lincoln" star paired up with fuzzy and huggable monster Murray to teach viewers about the meaning of "reinforce." He even consented to use his watch as a prop while Murray deployed a hammer.
On the scale of Gordon-Levitt's acting challenges, it may not rank alongside his gay hustler in "Mysterious Skin" or a time-traveling hit man in "Looper," but he gets points for being such an enthusiastic English teacher.
Gordon-Levitt next stars as a porn addicted lothario in "Don Jon's Addiction," which marks his directorial debut. Hopefully, it will not share much of a crossover audience with "Sesame Street."

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's passion project DON JON (formerly known as Don Jon's Addiction) is ready to make a splash at this weekend's SXSW Film Festival, and we've got a first look at a new close encounter between JGL and co-star Scarlett Johansson, plus a detailed explanation by JGL as to why he changed the film's title.
The writer-director-star of the film writes on Facebook, "Hey everybody, So, as you might've heard already, I wrote and directed a movie last year, and it's coming out later this year. Which is absolutely crazy, and I still kinda can't believe it. Anyway, I'm posting this today to let you all know that I'm changing its title. It's now called... DON JON. I decided to change it, first of all, because DON JON is just so short and simple, and if you know me, you know I'm a fan of brevity. Second of all, it felt to me like the old title, Don Jon's Addiction was throwing some people off a bit from the point of the movie.
People were assuming it was a film about porn addiction and sex addiction, which really isn't true. That'd be sort of like saying The Maltese Falcon is a movie about a statue of a falcon. DON JON is a comedy about how men and women treat each other, and how the media we consume can create unrealistic expectations that we put on one another. That's why the story centers around a relationship between a young man (played by me) who watches too much pornography and a young woman (played by Scarlett) who watches too many romantic Hollywood movies. It's a topic I personally find fascinating and hilarious.
And while I have your attention, I figured I'd show you the first production still we're releasing of Jon's father, played by none other than Tough Tony Danza. More to show soon. We're just starting to work on the trailer now. And I'm heading down to SxSW with Tony this weekend with the film, so I'll see some of you in Austin! thanks again.. J"

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - "Raising McCain," the "genre-busting docu-talk series" starring Meghan McCain, daughter of Sen. John McCain, will premiere September 14 on Pivot, the new millennials-centric cable network from Participant Media, the company said Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's television venture "hitRECord on TV!" - which will find the "Inception" star directing artists to create short films, live performances and other creative works, will premiere January 18, 2014.
Pivot will launch on August 1 with the new daily late-night talk show "Take Part Live," premiering at midnight.
Other premieres announced Wednesday by Pivot include "Jersey Strong," a modern-day take on "Romeo and Juliet" that debuts September 14 at 10:30 p.m., and "Little Mosque," which "takes a satirical look at a Muslim community living in Canada who has rented the town's Anglican church to start a local mosque" and bows on August 5 at 7 p.m.
