It really is a nice place, Deb. Quite historical, and the people around there are very friendly.
Hope you get to visit there one day. :)

Welcome to the world of blogging. I have had such a good time this a.m starting right back at the beginning. Love all the pics and will just say again what a pleasure it was to meet you.
Hope there will be another chance sometime in the future. :)

Thanks, Fi, and ditto, of course.
Yes, there will be. Maybe in September ? :)

Hope you're well!

Phew. The week started off with a drama.
Sunday night, I heard a commotion outside on the verandah, and found the cat limping.
Brought him inside, where he lay down, panting, with his tongue sticking out, and looking very sick.
At first, I thought he had had a fight with another cat, hence all the noise, but there was no obvious injury, apart from a tender back leg.
Then he staggered, like a drunkard, over to his food bowl, just looked at it and lay down on the kitchen mat, and wet himself.
By now, I thought he might have been bitten by something, but Sunday night was not a good time to try to find a vet.
So ... all I could do was keep him warm, comfort him and wait, hoping he's be ok.
He seemed to pick up, gradually, and lay in my bedroom doorway for the night.
Next morning, after dropping my car off for a service, I came home to find a red bellied black snake on the back lawn. Only about 2'6" long, but big enough to have given the cat a nasty dose of venom. Luckily, it must have only managed to inject a small quantity.
