Anderson Cooper has spoken: Universal Removing ‘So Gay’ From The Dilemma Trailer

<< < (2/2)

David In Indy:

--- Quote ---In remarks made public on Thursday, Vaughn said that he joins in the outrage over "bullying and persecution of people for their differences." But he insisted, "Comedy and joking about our differences breaks tension and brings us together."

--- End quote ---

Joking about OUR differences? OUR differences? He's not gay, is he? What does he mean by "our differences? It's real easy to stand there and feel indifferent about something when the joke isn't on YOU. I wouldn't have any problems with the "That's so gay" reference if it wasn't meant to be derogatory. But it is. And therefore it is offensive. It equates something bad or stupid with gay people. HOW is that a GOOD thing? HOW is it celebrating our differences?
