I LOVE ENNIS when he says, "Whut?" after he started opening up to Jack, talking about himself and finds Jack practically grinning at him . . . and then keeps talking!

I LOVE ENNIS in his painful exhale after he tells Jack "ain't no reins on this one," and is immediately comforted by Jack's touch.

I LOVE ENNIS when he tearfully whispers, "I love you," into the shirts he just discovered!

I LOVE ENNIS when he "fixes" the crooked post card on the closet door!

I LOVE ENNIS when after waiting all day long for Jack to show up, he lights up with sheer joy when he sees Jack's truck pull into the apartment parking lot.

I love Ennis for his deep-seated sense of protectiveness with regard to those he loves... of course Jack but also even Alma and the girls (thinking here of the fireworks scene).
