So far this one is still working, but it's just a matter of time before it turns off again.

My laptop screen is very temperamental. I can only open the laptop up to a certain angle. If it is too upright I cannot see anythng except the merest shadow of an image. The screen has to be very far back, nearly horizontal now or no image!!!!
It is I suspect going to go the way of all the rest of the expensive appliances in this house. The ancient cheap computer is fine. The 15 year old TV fine, the cheap TV's in the kids rooms fine. The expensive oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, plasma screen TV and this laptop, all have glitches. There is a lesson to be learned here I feel !!!!!
Good luck with a new monitor.
Will circuit city have some bargains now they are definitely shutting up shop ????

Ya smell something.....odd? ?

You don't even have to get to the room to smell something odd. You just have to go into the lobby. The first time I stayed at the Westin I went into the lobby of the Carter cause it was right next door and it was an old hotel. Remember I love old buildings and I had not heard the horrors of the Carter at that time. It was a very odd mix with the fancy chandeliers of the hotel's glory days with the added disco lights. One thing that stood out though was an odd odor. I read something about the hotel's past on the internet and apparently on its downward trend in the 70s, the Plantation room which was once a glorious ballroom for the hotel turned into a notorious drag queen revue place. Apparently things became very seedy during this period of time. After that it became a place where the homeless people were housed and then it became what it is now. Can you only imagine the odd array of ghosts this place must have

I finally got my new monitor. It's a 19 inch widescreen. My old one was also a 19 inch, but it was not a widescreen. Now everything is stretched. I wonder if there is a way to fix it? I've been looking through the owners manual (which is on a CD) and I'm not finding any information about it. It's got all these buttons on the front of it too. :P
I'll figure it out sooner or later. Anyway, I'm baaaaaaaack!
