Happy Birthday my friend!

David In Indy:
We had lots and lots of rain today and the southern half of Indiana is flooded again. Not real bad, but Dad and I are trapped at home. We can't get off the hill. The creek has flooded and overspilled its banks and Johnson Road (the road that intersects the street leading down the hill from Dad's house) is completely flooded. The other two entrances to the neighborhood (Fall Creek Road) are also flooded and unpassable. So we are trapped up here. I'm sure everything will be back to normal again in a day or two. But for now...  :P  :P

...we're trapped. >:(

Louisville really got nailed. Some of that city is underwater. They were showing scenes from Louisville on the news tonight. Some of those pictures reminded me of New Orleans a few years back. They also said some parts of Indy received over six inches of rain today, but we didn't flood as bad as Louisville did. I feel sorry for them down there. Louisville is about 90 miles from here, and apparently it got progressively worse as one travelled southward. :(

I haven't been trapped in a long time. It's kind of fun actually! But I hope we can get off the hill soon. I have some errands I need to run.

Oh dear David, I hope they come and drain you out soon..! Even if it is a mini adventure!!!

So this is ast your dad's that you're flooded into? What about your house?

Yes, I'm at my Dad's house now. He's located on a hill but the street leading down to the bottom gets flooded by a creek. It's gone back down now and we are fine. :)

I called Cory. My house is fine. Thanks for asking. I'm located very close to the Brickyard and the city of Speedway protects it a crown jewel - excellent pumping stations to get rid of the flood waters. Even Indianapolis will kick in and help. They won't let anything happen to it, and so my neighborhood ends up reaping the benefits as well. lol

Sometimes my neighborhood will flood up near the northeast quadrant, but rarely over on my side unless there is some sort of major problem - which does happen from time to time. :P
